Wedding

Now that we are all set and married, this page is more of a record for interested people than anything else. We have pictures of the wedding and honeymoon up in my Pictures section and our honeymoon journal with what we did on our trip to Disney World.

We had a great time with everyone and everything pretty much went swimmingly. Our vendors were great (and a good deal, too) and we would recommend them all highly.

Welcome to Andrew's and Jessica's wedding. Here, you will find, hopefully, all the information you need to know about the wedding. If, after perusing this page, you still have questions, feel free to get in touch with us (details are on the contact information page).

Date

The wedding is scheduled for Saturday August 4, 2007 at 10:30am (2007-08-04 15:30 UTC), with the reception following at 12:00pm that afternoon.

Locations

We will hold the wedding St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. The reception will be held at Daniele's Banquet Specialists. Directions are provided below.

Hotels

Beth Lyons (Andrew's mom) has arranged a reserved block at a group rate at the Holiday Inn in New Hartford (315-797-2131) under the reservation Lyons wedding (these should be made by June 30). Schedule

The schedule of the day is as follows:

  1. Friday 5:00pm - Rehearsal at St. Paul's (for wedding party)
  2. Friday 6:00pm - Rehearsal dinner (for wedding party)
  3. Saturday 10:30am - Ceremony begins at St. Paul's
  4. Saturday 11:30am - Ceremony ends
  5. Saturday 12:00pm - Reception starts at Daniele's
  6. Saturday 4:00pm - Reception ends
  7. Sunday 6:00am - We fly out to Disney!

Menu

We will have a buffet-style dinner at Daniele's after the ceremony. There will be an open, but limited, bar. There may be additional hors d'oeuvres before dinner begins.

We are registering primarily for activities, tickets, and other honeymoon things at Disney World, but also for more traditional gifts at Target.

About Us

We met in Fall of 2002 on the first day of orientation for our freshman year at Hamilton. Andrew was moving into his first-floor double while Jess was already living on the third floor. After a few other chance encounters, we became good friends and remained so for three years. In September of 2005 we both acknowledged crushes on each other and began dating, coincidentally, on Andrew's 22nd birthday. The rest, as they say, is history.

Andrew was born and raised in New Haven, CT where he attended Wilbur Cross High School. Later, he graduated from Hamilton College in May 2006 with a BA in Mathematics and Economics. After continuing his work for Hamilton's ITS for a few months after graduation, he accepted a position as an Information Technology Specialist in Hobart and William Smith Colleges' IT Services. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys reading, movies, web design, and vacation.

Jessica was born in Newark, NY and spent ten years in that area before moving to Canastota, NY, where she eventually graduated from Canastota High School in June of 2002. She graduated from Hamilton College in May 2006 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies. She worked various retail positions before landing her current position as an Office Manager at Keuka College's Health and Counseling Services. She is looking into graduate programs to further her education and probably continue working in higher education. In her spare time, Jess likes reading, scrapbooking, cooking, and learning about American history.

Directions

We recommend the Thruway methods whenever possible, as they are the simplest and fastest. The State Route methods are included for those of you further from Interstates or who enjoy the scenic route (NY State Routes 5, 8, and 12 all meet at Utica). For anyone not driving, Utica (~15 minutes away) receives both bus and rail service and Syracuse (~60 minutes away) receives air service. Please consult a map or other directions before hitting the road.

To St. Paul's from the East

  1. Take the NY State Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 32 for Westmoreland.
  2. Turn right after the toll booth (at the light and T in the road).
  3. Turn left onto State Route 233 south (at the next light and T in the road).
  4. Turn left onto State Route 5.
  5. Turn left onto Middle Settlement Road/CR-30. Continue to follow CR-30 for 1.9 miles.
  6. Turn right onto Clinton Street/CR-30 for 1.5 miles.
  7. Turn right onto Park Avenue.
  8. End at 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY

To St. Paul's from the West

  1. Take the NY State Thruway (I-90) East to Exit 32 for Westmoreland.

  2. Stay on State Route 12 north for roughly 80 miles.
  3. Turn left onto State Route 5 near Utica.
  4. Merge onto NY-5A West toward Whitesboro.
  5. NY-5A W becomes Oriskany Boulevard/NY-69 West.
  6. Turn right onto Clinton Street/CR-30.
  7. Turn right onto Park Avenue.
  8. End at 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY

To St. Paul's from the North

For the quick way,

  1. Take I-87 or I-81 South to I-90 and follow the East or West directions above, as appropriate.

For the scenic version,

  1. Follow State Route 5, 8, or 12 until they all merge into State Route 5 at Utica.
  2. Merge onto NY-5A West toward Whitesboro.
  3. NY-5A W becomes Oriskany Boulevard/NY-69 West.
  4. Turn right onto Clinton Street/CR-30.
  5. Turn right onto Park Avenue.
  6. End at 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY

To Holiday Inn from Utica Train and Bus Station

  1. Start out going west on Main Street toward RAILROAD Street.
  2. Turn right onto Railroad Street.
  3. Turn left onto Water Street.
  4. Water Street becomes Division Street.
  5. Division Street becomes Burchard Lane.
  6. Turn right onto Liberty Street/Oriskany Street West/NY-5S West. Continue to follow Oriskany Street West.
  7. Merge onto NY-12 South/NY-5 West/NY-8 South toward New Hartford.
  8. Take the Burrstone Road ramp toward Utica College.
  9. Keep left at the fork in the ramp.
  10. Turn left onto Burrstone Road.
  11. End At 1777 Burrstone Rd, New Hartford, NY

To Utica Train and Bus Station from Holiday Inn

  1. Start out going East on Burrstone Road toward Winchester Drive
  2. Merge onto NY-12 North/NY-5 East/NY-8 North.
  3. Take the RT-5S/RT-5A ramp toward Whitesboro/Downtown.
  4. Merge onto State Street toward RT-5S East/Downtown Utica.
  5. Merge onto Oriskany Street West/NY-5S East via the ramp on the left.
  6. Turn left onto John Street.
  7. Turn right onto Broad Street.
  8. Turn left onto Railroad Street.
  9. Turn right onto Main Street.
  10. End At 321 Main St, Utica, NY
