Biscuits
Tasty, light, and easy, these biscuits are good for snacking or serving with berries or butter.
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 cup light cream
- Preheat oven to 450°
- Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl
- Cut in cold butter and mix until crumbly
- Mix in beaten egg and cream
- Spread dough in pan to desired size (I use 2 by 3-inch lumps)
- Cook at 450° for 15-18 minutes until lightly browned
- Cool for a few minutes
- Serve warm, split if desired
